Birthday Parties and Potty Training

Kagen went to one of his friend's 2nd birthday party this past weekend. Jake is the son of one of my co-workers. He is exactly one month older than Kagen. They are the same size and have fun playing together. Kagen was a little jealous of some of Jake's gifts, but other than that, had fun!

Nick, Jake, and Kagen (Nick and Jake go to daycare with Kagen)

Kagen threw a fit wanting to ride Jake's bike. Trista (Jake's mom) finally set Kagen on the back to help the situation.

Balloon Wars

Kagen snuck a ride on the bike while Jake was preoccupied

The ballons were a hit!

Potty training is in full force. We bought Kagen his own potty and introduced him to the idea back in June when he turned 18 months old. We sat him on it every night before his bath because it never failed that he would tee tee in the bathtub. Over the past 5 months, he used the potty about 8 times. This past week, he all of a sudden caught on. He has only told us that he has to go a couple of times, but if we ask him and go sit him on the potty, he uses it just about every time. He has even pooped in the potty 3 times now! He hasn't done anything at day care. They just started trying it with him last week, but he has too much going on there and won't go. We are glad that it is working and hope to have it down by his 2nd birthday in a few weeks. We'll see how that goes.
