San Antonio, June 2011

We actually took a little vacation this year! In the years past, we just went to our 2 lake trips with my family and called it good. This year, teachers could get free season passes to Sea World if they went by June 30 to redeem them. So, we decided we better take advantage of this $120 discount since we had wanted to take Kagen there anyway. We drove down there on a Monday morning and spent the evening on the River Walk. We walked around the mall and let Kagen stuff his own puppy. Then we went and ate at Casa Rio which is my favorite thing to do on the River Walk. Tuesday, we spent 7 hours at Sea World, then went to Bass Pro Shop for dinner and playing around. Wednesday, we packed up and headed home, getting to Stamford just in time for the big rodeo parade.

Dinner at Casa Rio

Kagen stopped and waved to every boat that came by.

Stuffing his new dog, Freddy.

Waiting to enter the gates!

Can you tell Braden just woke up?

The Shamu Express! This was Kagen's favorite ride. I couldn't get a good picture of him because they made the adults ride on the outside. Zach rode it with him twice and I rode it once. It was a little rough for my taste.

Playing in the water at Elmo's Bay of Play

The Journey to Atlantis ride that Kagen rode with me!

After the ride, Kagen said, "Again, again!"

This is about the extent of the animal activity at the "Azul" show. It was a great diving show, but pretty boring for kids.

Trick Skiers skiing up to the stage at the end of the show

Kagen with 2 of the skiers from the Cool Vibrations show. This pair actually busted!

Waiting to see Shamu

quick nap

Braden loves his daddy.

Shamu!

The new Bay of Play that is great for the little ones.

Climbing at the Bay of Play

That was fun!

The end of the day - Braden was digging the sun in his eyes.

Kagen hopped right on and said "I want this one."

He loved this!

Shooting with Daddy

The lion eating a zebra was a little disturbing.

Outside the Bass Pro Shop

This was in front of a pretty waterfall, but it was too dark and our kids were to wiggly to get a good picture.

When we got home, I asked Kagen to shake up a bottle for Braden. When I came back into the room, this is what I found. Too, cute!

We had such a good time on such a short trip. Since we have season passes and Kagen's ticket is good for 2 days, we are going back in August! My in-laws were able to book their time share for us the first part of August, so our lodging and Sea World will both be free! We are so excited to be able to go back!
