He walks all over holding on to the furniture, or pushing his toys. However, he is just now beginning to take a couple of steps on his own. He'd rather crawl, or have us hold him.
He has been off of the bottle since before he turned 11 months, and on whole milk since around 11 1/2 months. These things came early because he was taking a sippee cup just as well as a bottle, and he was becoming uninterested in his formula. He still doesn't drink as much milk as we'd like, but it's good enough to get by on.
He eats pretty much any table food we set in front of him. We might pull out a jar of baby food once every couple of weeks for a snack or to supplement with. He is very quick to let you know if he doesn't want something. We are working hard on leaving the sippee cup sitting on the high chair tray rather than throwing it across the room when done. (We went through that with Kagen, too.) He can feed himself with a fork, but very slowly, so we do it for him most of the time. Most foods just get cut up and placed on his tray for him to eat with his fingers still.
We went for his 1 year check up today. He has only gained a little in the past couple of months due to quick mobility. He is only in the 20-30% which is still such the opposite of big brother. He is very healthy though and meets or exceeds all benchmarks for a 1 year old.
Weight: 20 lbs. 11 oz.
Height: 29.5"
We celebrated his birthday with a big party on October 8 in Hale Center at Mammie and Pops's house. We had a great turnout of family to help celebrate our little one's big day! That night, Zach and I went with my parents to watch Tech and A&M play football for the last time in the Big 12. We lost 45-40, but it was a good game.
Here are many pictures from the past couple of weeks:
Celebrating Grandpa's 79th birthday! Grandpa went on a week long trip to New England, so he was gone on Braden's birthday as well.

"It's kind of early in the morning to be real happy." Grandmother got him his new chair just like the one big brother has.
"I like you singing to me though!"
"I do not want my brother to hold me."
Grandmother got him a cake to have on his actual birthday since she was unable to travel up to Hale Center for his party that weekend.

"Mammie, what are you doing?"
Everyone was singing happy birthday to him. He tried to grab the flame on his candle so we blew it out before the song even began.

"A car!"
"I really like to read and chew on this book!"
I think this picture is funny. It looks like it Kagen's party.
