The Logans: State Championship Football Game

The Stamford Bulldogs made it to the State Championship football game for the first time since 1959. They won state 4 times in the 50s. Since then, we made it to the semi-finals in 1980 and the quarter finals in 1996. This year's team ended the season with a 13-3 record losing in the state title game to an undefeated Mason High School team. We scored more points on them than any other team this year. They really should be considered our only loss of the season. Our other 2 losses game in district play to Albany and Seymour who were also state ranked. District ended with Albany in 1st, Seymour in 2nd, and Stamford in 3rd. We beat Albany in the regional match up and Seymour in the State Quarterfinal. Our district was represented very well.

We didn't win the championship, but we had a great ride. Our community had reunion after reunion the last 4 weeks of play! It was so much fun. We had at least 5,000 fans at the state title game which is amazing for a 1A school. It was our first trip to Cowboys Stadium. Nothing like getting to sit in amazing seats for only $40 for our whole family! Zach even got to go up in the press box and announce the band. Pretty cool!

We are only losing 3 Senior starters, so hopefully we will be back there next year.
