State Championship Football Game

The Stamford Bulldogs made it to the State Championship football game for the first time since 1959. They won state 4 times in the 50s. Since then, we made it to the semi-finals in 1980 and the quarter finals in 1996. This year's team ended the season with a 13-3 record losing in the state title game to an undefeated Mason High School team. We scored more points on them than any other team this year. They really should be considered our only loss of the season. Our other 2 losses game in district play to Albany and Seymour who were also state ranked. District ended with Albany in 1st, Seymour in 2nd, and Stamford in 3rd. We beat Albany in the regional match up and Seymour in the State Quarterfinal. Our district was represented very well.

We didn't win the championship, but we had a great ride. Our community had reunion after reunion the last 4 weeks of play! It was so much fun. We had at least 5,000 fans at the state title game which is amazing for a 1A school. It was our first trip to Cowboys Stadium. Nothing like getting to sit in amazing seats for only $40 for our whole family! Zach even got to go up in the press box and announce the band. Pretty cool!

We are only losing 3 Senior starters, so hopefully we will be back there next year.

Braden found a cabinet to sit in in our hotel room. I have a picture of Kagen doing the same thing at this age.

Kagen's 4th Birthday

Our dear sweet Kagen turned 4 years old this past Saturday. I can't even come up with the words to describe what he means to us. These past four years have been such a blessing. We love watching him grow and learn. He is so smart, handsome, funny, and loving. He is also stubborn, but he comes by that from both families!

Kagen at 4 years old:

41.5 lbs
42" tall
Size 5/6 clothes
Shoe Size 11.5-12
Counts to 80 with very little help
Recognizes all upper case and almost all lower case letters and knows many of the sounds they make
Writes his name
Knows rectangles, triangles, circles, ovals, squares, diamonds, stars
Eager to learn
Great imagination
Caring big brother
Prays each night (stops and thanks God for rain)
Can hit a baseball pretty far when pitched by Daddy (Mom's not very good)
Rides a bike with training wheels very well
Can run a mile without stopping
Loves stuffed animals, trucks, tools, dressing up (football player, super hero, fireman, baseball player, construction worker, magician, etc.)
Loves milkshakes
Drinks milk like crazy
Favorite Food: Pancakes

I could go on and on. We are so proud of the boy he has become. We celebrated his birthday on his birthday at Prime Time in Abilene. Our neighbors/friends, have 3 children who all have December birthdays. We decided to do one big party for all 4 kids since they would be at each other's parties anyway. It was different, but the kids had a blast. Their youngest, Lilly, is Kagen's age. She turned 4 today. The poor thing was sick with the stomach bug and had to miss the party.

We spent an hour in a private dining room eating pizza and cake and opening gifts. Then we had the climbing area reserved for an hour. Then each kid got a card for the arcade room. They all had so much fun! The parents had a pretty good time, too!
