didn't get that from either of us. At his 6 month doctor visit, the doctor said he was still doing great. She told us we could try taking him off of the acid reflux formula, but that didn't work. He got to move up to the 2nd foods and added meat to his diet. He doesn't like the meats by themselves, but he loves the little 2nd foods dinners that have chicken and turkey mixed with other stuff. His favorite foods though are bananas and Hawaiian Delight. She said she didn't recommend any table food until 9 months, so we are still holding off on that. Some disagree with that, but we want to do what is the very best for Kagen, not what is the most fun. We aren't just trying to keep Kagen alive, we are trying to do the very best we possible can for him. Most people are great, but we wish the others would respect our wishes. I know many of you that are my friends and have little ones, completely understand.

6 Month doctor's visit
We went to Stamford for Father's Day weekend and stayed the following week and worked on my grandmother's house. She hired Zach to paint the interior of most of her downstairs. Her bedroom was completely covered in wallpaper that had to be removed, so we ended up coming back a week later and spending a few more days finishing that up. While we were there, we did make a little time for fun. Kagen adores my grandmother. I think she is his favorite person. He learned to crawl on the lovely pink carpet at her house that is about to be replaced. Yes, that's right, crawling. Kagen turned 7 months old on July 3 and started crawling on July 7th. He had been in the crawling position for about a month and could moved backwards, but he finally figured out the forward motion and crawled across the living room for the remote control on the 7th.

On July 2nd, we all headed to Dallas for Kagen's first trip to Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Matt's house. Kagen scooted around on their wood floor, went shopping with Mommy and Aunt Cheryl, and watched fireworks on TV. We had a really good time. We didn't do much on the 4th besides lay around and eat and eat and eat, but it was relaxing. Our plan was to take Kagen to the pool, but it was a little too crowded for our taste.

On the 5th, we headed for our yearly trip to PK. My Uncle Brent has a cabin there, so we usually go spend a night or 2 there for the 4th of July weekend. We usually go over to Hell's Gate for fireworks, but decided not to go this year. We did go out in the lake a little way and watch them from our end of the lake. It was Kagen's first time at the lake. We took him to Sandy Beach and went swimming. He never cried, but he also never laughed. He wasn't quite sure what to think about it. Of course, we woke him up from his nap to go swimming, so that didn't help. He did love playing in the sand.

Good Morning, Mommy!
Last night, before we left for the 7-on-7 football game in Lubbock, Kagen finally clapped by himself. I'd been trying to get him to do it for a couple of weeks and he never would even attempt to. Then he just started clapping last night while playing on the floor. Then he clapped more at the game. It was really cute. Today he has spent a lot of time clapping for no reason. It is hard to get a good picture of it because he moves so fast.

What a big boy!!! I was NERVOUS to start table foods...I would try them (ofcourse Mason had NO TEETH) and he would GAG and then throw up. It was hard for him with no teeth, but he finally got the hang of it and that was WELL past 9 MONTHS!!
It was so good to see you and Kagen the other night!! He is soo precious and such a good boy!! We need to get together more often :)
